January 9, 2024

When it comes to cybersecurity, most people don’t consider how it impacts the manufacturing industry. However, here at Velo3D we pride ourselves in thinking differently and as we’ve delivered our additive manufacturing technology to the world, we’ve also observed how important cybersecurity is in protecting our customers’ data.

Manufacturing advancements, like advent of additive manufacturing, brings forth unprecedented opportunities for improving innovation and efficiency. However, it can be a double-edged sword. Emerging manufacturing technologies heavily depend on interconnected systems, automation, and data-driven decision-making, consequently exposing these advanced manufacturing environments to heightened cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Our company recently announced that our metal 3D printers adhere to the most stringent cybersecurity standards set by the U.S. Department of Defense. To highlight the importance of cybersecurity in our industry, we have compiled compelling statistics that shed light on just how important cybersecurity is in the manufacturing industry.
